You can’t help but feel a bit suspicious when the stench was so overwhelming, it made you look at the soles of your shoes every twenty seconds to make sure they haven’t made any contact with anything that would discharge such a nasal-hair-dislodging malodor.Anyway, I reached the post office safely with no signs of “involuntary collision” anywhere. As I headed back, I used the opposite sidewalk, hoping to avoid the earlier paranoia, plus it was shadier on this side with the tall trees and the sun was beginning to fry my skin.To my horror, the stench was three times stronger over on this side and this time, I found the culprit.Lo and behold…I can assure you, it was a huge pile.

I recently discovered an independent near Soho. I say ‚Äňrecently‚Äô because despite the fact that I must have walked near the surrounding area several hundred times, I never noticed there was an actual cinema there! How was that possible? Well this time, there weren‚Äôt that many people around and you can actually pay attention to your surroundings rather than concentrate on avoiding oncoming…. Which reminds of an incident yonks ago when I was hanging out with my much younger friends. We were planning to catch a movie at one of the more popular cinemas, when I asked,

“Nak tengok kat pawagam mana?”

One particular friend burst into hysterical laughter.

Devastated

He couldn’t understand why the people there wouldn’t let her in straight away.I waited and waited at the arrival halls with him until eventually his mobile phone rang; it was people who was holding my new owner in custody…. Fortunately, the nice girl at the nearby phone store allowed him to charge his battery there.Once his battery was half-charged, he went to make further phone calls.

Good God, it was bloody hot down there and I didn’t want to remain below for too long. I used to get on the Piccadilly line and change at King’s Cross to get there, but I soon learned that I could get there faster if I get off at Finsbury Park and take the Victoria line to Piccadilly Circus, change again and take the Bakerloo line to Paddington…. Oh yes, if you do come here often and bring your laptop along, there is an unsecured WiFi network connection nearby and you can happily do some internet-surfing while sipping your teh tarik.

It was nearing sundown. AF, AA and I were starting to feel the effect of not getting our fix for the day. We were heading towards the richest part of town on foot and the cold weather was beginning to take its toll on us.
