Ye Blog - Part 4
Published by iJun Monday, 29 May 2006 in Ye Lost Blog | Popularity: 6% Tags: blog, blogger, browser, css, gravatar, page width, screen resolution, wordpress.Earlier this month, I assisted May with moving over from Blogger to WordPress (not WordPress.com, but the platform). Then a few days ago, it was Kudo’s turn. I was amazed at the speed in which the both of them quickly tidied all their blog entries and categorised them one by one. It didn’t take them more then a couple of nights to do it. Wow. What enthuthiasm. What dedication. Me? I moved over almost a month ago and still hadn’t thought of my category names!
Ini tak boleh jadi!
So like a violent drunken Irish, I cursed and cursed before finally sat down and began categorising my entries from day one. Bloody ‘ell. It took the most part of my weekend to get it done. I’m glad it’s finished now.
I also took the opportunity to make a few changes to my blog:
- I’ve increased the width. It’s now optimised for viewing at 1024×768 resolution. You can blame this on Kudo who made me feel a little blog-envy (is there such a word?) with his photoblog. Those who’re still on 800×600 should seriously think about moving on with the times and get a bigger screen (gila riak).
- I got rid of the Flickr thumbnails on the sidebar. I felt that it was somehow slowing down the loading time. I could be wrong but it does feel a lot faster without them. I might put them back in later.
- I’ve created a Photos page (to show off my crummy picture-taking skills). N.B. The thumbnails do not group together properly on FireFox (both Mac and Windows) but works okay on Internet Explorer and Safari. Please use these instead when viewing them until I’m able to sort out the bloody CSS code that is wreaking havoc. UPDATE 30 May 2006: This is now fixed and the thumbnails appear as they should be on all web browsers.
- Those without Gravatars have the option to create one at the bottom of my comment boxes. As soon as you have filled in the required fields, click on the checkbox, enter a unique password and hit the submit button as per usual. You will receive instructions by email on how to upload your own picture. N.B. The checkbox won’t appear if you already have a Gravatar.
- I’ve updated the About page. To be honest, it’s kind of a lame attempt. I just find it difficult (and really bizarre) to be describing one’s self. Shows how much of a non-bookworm that I am. Anyway, I ripped off the idea for the page from another famous blogger.
- Oh yes, and this. Click on the picture below for a surprise. Cool huh?

fui yo, macam Dashboard effect! a bit too beeeg on the ibook though. But still
Did you mean the pic? Ya I agree osso. It’s too big. I’ve changed it now. Try lah.
Oh, and I just added number 4 to the list. Apa lagi wei!
tak jadi pun. I signed up for the gravatar traditionally. dah la kena approve. macamlah i uploaded a picture of my butt or something
Oops! There was a line of code that was messing up the submission bit. It’s fixed now. Sorry about that hehe.
You’re correct. Gravatar applications are approved manually by their staff which I’m kinda relieved actually. Can you imagine having somebody’s hairy buttcrack appearing all over the blogsphere if there was no approval system? Hehe!
the pic, coolest! iLike!
if you like that one, check out the pics in the photo gallery!
Bro…mana winnie the pooh poster nih?
